My husband and I read this one out loud to each other over a period of like a year (we’re very slow). It was a good bonding experience, but I don’t know that it was the best way to read it in order to extract information from it, since I didn’t take notes or anything. I’m not sure I would have anyway, though, because most of it seemed to be more or less common biblical sense, illustrated with a number of anecdotes. The anecdotes were really the best part, though–it’s easy to lecture and preach, but the number of personal stories Peale had to back up his points would have made his case for him, if I hadn’t already been inclined to agree. Very uplifting, as the title implies.
