A fluffy, short rom-com that doesn’t take much longer to listen to than a film might–this one hits all the beats in predictable fashion, but it’s a fun listen anyway. It’s read by dual narrators, both of whom are very well cast, with terrific chemistry. I found myself reminiscing about my own high school days as they told the story of theirs, as I could absolutely identify with them, even though I didn’t experience exactly the same things…
Danielle and Asher were rivals in high school, or at last they were as Dani remembers it. She was running for student body president, and Ash ran on a lark, and won. She never forgave him. She was still on student government with him, though, and they have to work together to organize their high school reunion. This gives Ash the opportunity to finally win her over, as it turns out he’s been trying to do ever since he ran for school president in the first place.
