Check it out!!
I’m so pleased that my former cover artist agreed to re-make my first cover (at no charge!), using clip art still, but manipulating it enough that my cover is truly unique. I actually think I might like it a little better than the first one, partly because the human on the cover tends to attract more interest than abstract covers do. (Although my husband thinks the guy in the photo looks like the Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Or Josh Grobin. I don’t think so on both counts, though he’s not exactly how I’d pictured Jackson either–and I guess he’s now Jackson.)
She’s working on the cover for “The Eden Conspiracy” for me now as well… the clip art she sent me was this shirtless guy kind of curled over with his head in shadow and his hands in a claw shape, which I thought was cool (especially if she fractured it the way she did with this one). But my brother said, “Um, do you want any guys to read this book?” He pointed out it might look like a romance novel cover if I wasn’t careful. So my cover artist and I are going back and forth on that, trying to come up with ideas… I’m thinking red this time, but a similar explosion/fractured look to it… and I guess the rest might depend on the image we start with.
I’m open to idea suggestions!
