A good “fluff” book– you need those once in awhile! The characters were shallow, predictable, and at times over-the-top absurd. But I still enjoyed it… Kinsella leaves just enough mystery to keep you turning pages to find out what happens next. It’s set in 2004 and 2007 Britain, and I was there in 2003 and 2005, so it was quite familiar to me (LOVE the Britishisms!). And although for most of the book, I was having a hard time believing that pre-accident and post-accident Lexi were so diametrically opposed, I was impressed that Kinsella gave her a compelling reason for having done such a complete 180. I figured up until that point that it was gonna have to be one of those “suspend your disbelief” kinds of things.
At any rate, if you’re looking for something to read by the pool with a mimosa on a Saturday morning… this is a good choice.
